Study of regularities of changes in fuel consumption by dumpers trolley diesel machine at iron ore quarries

Abstract

Goal. Increasing the efficiency of quarry road transport by reducing fuel consumption by installing diesel trolley-carrying equipment on quarry dump trucks. Research methods. Provisions of the theory of cars and transport processes and systems, methods of the theory of planning experiments, analysis of literary sources, and scientific generalization of previously performed research. Scientific novelty. Based on the study of the process of transporting goods by quarry dump trucks and trolley diesel machine, the patterns of changes in fuel consumption of quarry dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90, 130, and 220 tons depending on the length of the track, the patterns of changes in specific fuel consumption depending on the length of the track at different parts of the trolley section and the patterns of changes in specific fuel consumption were established fuel consumption from a specific part of the trolley section at different lengths of traffic routes. Practical significance. The results of the research will be used in assessing the feasibility of using and predicting the operation of trolley assist based on quarry dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90 to 220 tons. The results. The regularities of changes in linear fuel consumption from the length of driving with a load by quarry dump trucks with an electromechanical transmission have been established. The average estimated linear fuel consumption for dump trucks with a carrying capacity of 90 t is 10-12 l/km, 130 t – 16-18 l/km, 220 t – 24-26 l/km. Smaller values correspond to routes of longer length due to a smaller specific part of fuel consumption during non-productive operations of the transport cycle. The parabolic dependence of the specific fuel consumption of a trolley assist car on the length of the route and the linear dependence of the specific fuel consumption of a trolley assist car on the trolley section of the route were established. It was established that the absolute length of the traffic route does not significantly affect the specific fuel consumption, the part of the trolley section in the total length of the route has a more significant influence. When the trolley part of the track increases from 30 to 70% on the longest track, the value of relative fuel consumption decreases from 0.76 to 0.41. To reduce fuel consumption when introducing trolley assist, it is necessary to have routes of the maximum length with the maximum length of the trolley section, this can lead to a reduction of the total fuel consumption by 2.5 times
