The editorial team of the Mining Journal of Kryvyi Rih National University is committed to ensuring the prompt, fair, and constructive handling of all concerns related to the publication process. Each complaint is considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account its nature, scope, and level of complexity.
In addressing such matters, the editorial board follows internationally recognised standards of publication ethics and takes into consideration the recommendations of the
Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Submission of Complaints
To facilitate effective review, a complaint should:
- be clearly and concisely stated;
- describe the issue or alleged misconduct in specific terms;
- provide sufficient detail to enable proper assessment;
- where possible, include supporting evidence or documentation.
All submissions are formally registered and reviewed within 30 working days. In cases requiring more extensive investigation, the review period may be extended, and the complainant will be informed accordingly.
Limitations on Consideration
The editorial office reserves the right to decline further investigation where a complaint:
- falls outside the journal’s scope of responsibility;
- consists of unsubstantiated personal allegations;
- is submitted in an abusive, threatening, or defamatory manner.
In such cases, a response will be provided explaining the reasons for not proceeding with the complaint.
Appeals Policy
Authors have the right to lodge an appeal if they disagree with an editorial decision, including rejection or requests for substantial revision.
Appeal Submission Procedure
Appeals must be submitted via the journal’s official email address and should:
- provide a clear and reasoned justification for contesting the decision;
- include detailed responses to reviewers’ comments;
- where appropriate, be accompanied by a revised version of the manuscript or additional supporting arguments.
Appeal Review Process
Appeals are evaluated by the editorial board in accordance with principles of fairness and impartiality. Where necessary:
- the manuscript may be sent for an additional round of peer review;
- independent experts may be consulted.
The decision reached following the appeal is final and will be communicated to the author with an appropriate explanation.
General Principles
The procedures for handling complaints and appeals are designed to:
- ensure transparency and fairness;
- uphold high standards of academic integrity;
- maintain trust in scholarly communication.
